Pops Fernandez is set to return to TV.
She is hosting TV5’s new romance drama anthology series titled “For The Love.”
The show is to give life to relatable stories and heartwarming moments while taking viewers down memory lane with classic and modern hits from Viva Records.
Pops is excited about it.
“It is something different kasi,” she said. “I’ve never done something like this before and I’m happy. Siyempre, gusto mo kahit paano bago yung ginagawa mo.”
For its initial salvo, “For the Love” will present 13 episodes directed by some of the industry’s up and coming directors, including JP Laxamana, Rod Marmol, Joel Ferrer, and Dustin Celestino.
Each episode stars a different love team and some of today’s rising artists – Heaven Peralejo and Marco Gallo, Krissha Viaje and Wilbert Ross, Bea Binene and Gab Lagman, to name a few.
Aside from being the show’s host and story narrator, Pops will also be serenading viewers with the featured OPM love song per episode, invoking deeper emotions with her enchanting singing voice and talent that earned her the distinction of being the Philippines’ Concert Queen.
“Medyo kabado ako nung umpisa kasi iba na ngayon ang atake ng mga songs e,” said Pops. “Pero I’m happy that I’ve taken on the challenge. I learned a lot. I’m pretty sure masasama ko na itong mga songs na ito sa repertoire ko.”
“For The Love” premieres July 29, Saturday at 3:20pm on TV5.
