Alden Richards has a reminder for newbies.
Apparently, he is bothered that some of them are picky with projects.
The actor said, “Wag po kayong maging choosy kung wala pa po kayong napapatunayan. I don’t mean this in a negative way, I mean this in an inspirational kind of way. You have to prove yourself first.”
He went on to attest how he, as a beginner, just said yes to anything and everything.
“First six, seven years of my career, kahit ano ginagawa ko po lahat without questions,” he maintained.
It is as such that, if ever, he wants his story told.
“To inspire po yung mga gustong pumasok sa showbiz,” he said.
“Siyempre, sa journey naman po ng buhay, hindi naman lahat masarap. In every good there’s always a bad and vice versa. So, gusto ko sana mapakita yung realidad ng showbiz na, ano ba talaga ang nangyayari dito? What is the business all about? How difficult it is to stay, how difficult it is to go?”
For now, though, he is happy to share the life stories of other inspiring individuals in his month-long appearance in “Magpakailaman” this August.
On Aug. 5, he will breathe life into an athlete who has cervical dystonia in “A Runner To Remember.”.
It will be followed by “Epal Dreamboy” on Aug. 12, which is about a so-called social media influencer; and “Lost Boy” on Aug. 19, which is about a street thug.
It will be capped off with “Sa Puso At Isipan” on Aug. 26, which tackles mental health.
Alden described the whole “Magpakailanman” experience a huge challenge for him as an actor.
“Mahirap magpalit-palit nang portrayals in a short span of time but I loved it. Gusto ko talaga natsa-challenge ako as actor palagi,” he said.
“That’s the death of an actor, when you want roles na komportable.”
He is hopeful that audiences will find inspiration in the effort.
“Yan ang goal ko sa mga ginagawa ko of late, to inspire people,” he maintained.
