Former PBA star Jimmy Alapag has been appointed as the player development coach for the Sacramento Kings.
The 45-year-old Alapag announced this on social media on Saturday, Aug. 5 (Manila time), saying it was a dream come true to join Coach Mike Brown and his staff for the upcoming NBA season.
“Incredibly blessed and thankful for this opportunity,” wrote Alapag, who thanked the entire Kings organization for the promotion and the trust.
Prior to this development, the former PBA Most Valuable Player and Gilas Pilipinas team captain was an assistant coach for the team’s G-League affiliate, the Stockton Kings.
