Young Cebuano star driver William John Riley Go has expressed his excitement and immense pride to be able to take part in the Ferrari Driver Academy Trials (FDA) next month at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
Go, 15, shared the good news on social media on Friday, Aug. 11, as he thanked the AAP Motorsport Philippines for its endorsement.
“I’m thrilled to share the exciting news that I’ve been selected to take part in the upcoming Ferrari Driver Academy Trials (FDA) next month. This Selection Program is where Ferrari chooses the next drivers they want to include in their Ferrari Driver Academy,” said Go.
For the uninitiated, FDA is considered as the junior team of the famed Scuderia Ferrari that was helped popularize by Michael Schumacher.
It is also where the next best driver of Ferrari will come from and enjoy awesome financial contract, including mouth-watering perks.
“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to AAP Motorsport Philippines for their endorsement, allowing me the incredible opportunity to proudly represent my country. It’s a true honor and privilege that I hold in high regard. While I hold no expectations, I am determined to put forth my best effort.
“This experience holds immense potential, not only in terms of motorsport success but also for personal growth. I believe this journey will open doors to a wealth of opportunities – expanding my knowledge, forging valuable relationships, increasing media presence, and hopefully, attracting sponsors who can play a crucial role in advancing my career to the next level. Here’s to hoping for the best and embracing every possibility that lies ahead.”
Go will be pitted against 24 other aspirants in the five-day trials where they have the opportunity to drive the latest Formula 4-spec Tatuus F4 T421 around the 5.543 km track.
Of course, there will also be a fitness testing before the top 6 drivers will be selected.
