Rain or Shine is starting to secure its future with its young core.
The Elasto Painters management has given heady point guard Andrei Caracut a contract extension that runs until 2026, the team announced on Tuesday, Aug. 29.
Present in the signing of the contract were Caracut and his agent Danny Espiritu and team governor Atty. Mert Mondragon, assistant manager Jireh Ibanes and assistant coach Caloy Garcia.
The 5-foot-8 guard has proven to be one of head coach Yeng Guiao’s reliable players, even earning some praise from the fiery mentor following a stellar showing in the Jones Cup.
Guiao expressed his excitement for Rain or Shine’s future with guys like Caracut along with Anton Asistio, Santi Santillan, Gian Mamuyac and even new addition Mac Balo.
“Natutuwa doon sa mga bata, sina Santi (Santillan), sina Mamu (Gian Mamuyac), sina Andrei(Caracut), Anton (Asistio), si Mac Belo, na bago pa lang nakasali sa’min pero makikita mo na buo ‘yung loob niya pagkadating,” said Guiao following the team’s stint in the Jones Cup.
“Natutuwa rin ako sa future na nakikita ko na later on, ‘pag nagmature pa lalo ‘tong mga bata na ‘to, mas lalabas pa ‘yung potential nila,” he added.
The signing also came just months after the Elasto Painters also secured the services of Rey Nambatac for the next three years.
