Nadine Lustre continues her foray into horror movies with the upcoming “Nokturno” as directed by Mikhail Red.
She told us, “When it was pitched to me I said yes immediately knowing that I’m going to be working with Mikhail and his team again.”
Note the two carved huge box-office success with “Deleter.”
But Nadine made clear, “We’re not just teaming up to duplicate the success of ‘Deleter.’ Although we would want that, we are more excited that we have something new to offer in ‘Nokturno.’”
Indeed, where “Deleter” focuses on the harm caused by social media, among others, “Nokturno” tackles folklore.
“Growing up, we were all made familiar of mythical creatures of the night. “Nokturno’ sheds a light on that,” said Mikhail.
Nadine is excited that she is, once again, playing a character vastly removed from her real life persona in “Nokturno.”
“It’s very exciting for me as an actress trying out different roles, creating personas,” she said.
Doing away with the usual cookie-cutter characters proved quite a boon for Nadine.
She was named best actress at the 48th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) for her performance in “Deleter.”
She earned a Famas best actress trophy just recently for “Greed.”
Is she pressured to top herself?
“Yes, but I’m the kind of person who doesn’t shy away from challenges…I always want to do better.”
“Nokturno” also stars Bea Binene, Wilbert Ross, JJ Quilantang and Eula Valdez.
