Online sensation and MPBL guard Kyt Jimenez officially filed his application for the upcoming PBA Rookie Draft on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Jimenez posted on his Facebook page his picture holding his application as the 48th aspirant for the rookie draft that is scheduled on Sept. 17 at Market! Market! in Taguig.
“Walang imposible, ikaw na bahala God!,” said Jimenez, who is a self-confessed fan of San Miguel star Terrence Romeo.
Known for his fancy handles and being a crowd favorite, Jimenez gained popularity via online when he joined coach Mavrick Baustista’s “Mav’s Phenom Basketball.”
The 5-foot-11 floor general started his basketball career in the NCAA, playing for University of Perpetual Help System-Dalta (UPHSD) Altas.
His collegiate career, however, was cut short after he suffered an ACL Injury.
In the MPBL, Jimenez made a name when he recorded a rare quadruple-double of 33 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists and 11 steals.
He was the second Filipino player to do that feat after Cebuano star Donbel Belano achieved it in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA) in 1999.
He also played for the Davao Occidental Tigers last year before playing for the Gensan Warriors in the MPBL.
Also joining the draft are Ricci Rivero, Schonny Winston, Francis Giusanni, Luis Villegas, and Will Gozum.
