Veteran showbiz columnist and talent manager Ethel Ramos passed away Sunday, Sept. 10.
She was 87.
Her passing was confirmed by her niece Farah Ramos in a social media post.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dearest Tita Ethel Ramos today, September 10 , 5:38 p.m. She was 87,” Farah wrote.
“The family requests for prayers at this time of great sorrow and grief. Wake details will be announced soon. Godspeed, Dean. We love you. You will be sorely missed,” she added.
A graduate of Journalism from the University of Santo Tomas, Manay Ethel, was known as the “Dean of Entertainment Writers.” She also handled the careers of Aga Muhlach and Angel Locsin.
Sen. Bong Revilla took to social media to honor Manay Ethel.
He wrote, “Tayo po ay nagluluksa sa pagpanaw ng isa sa ating pinakamamahal at pinagkakautangan ng napakalaking utang na loob – Manay Ethel Ramos.
“Napakasakit Manay. Para akong nawalan ulit ng isang ina, dahil isa ka sa tumayong nanay ko sa aking pag-aartista. Maraming salamat sa iyong pagmamahal at paggabay mula sa aking pagkabata hanggang sa ngayong iyong pamamaalam. We love you Manay Ethel. Pahinga ka na. Say hi to Mommy and Daddy for me.”
