Jerald Napoles is trying family drama in his latest film outing, “Instant Daddy.”
In it, he plays the role of Val, a man who vowed to stay away from serious relationships.
He doesn’t believe in commitment, growing up in a broken family.
It is as such that he has many paramours.
Among them is Julie, played by Danita Paner.
Julie shows up one day with a child.
She claims that it is Val’s.
She would go on to leave the baby with Val, who is suddenly thrust into fatherhood.
Though unprepared and unwilling, Val, the “Instant Daddy”, takes care of the baby girl.
As the days and years go by, taking care of her is no longer just a duty, but his joy.
Mira grows up to be a sassy but lovable girl who radiates positivity. She constantly reminds Val of things he tends to forget. She also lives in a world of fantasy, believing in the Magic Island. Despite being loved dearly by her Daddy Val, Mira still longs for a mother’s love.
When Julie comes back to seek custody of Mira, Val makes the ultimate sacrifice: Give his daughter something he can’t give — a mother.
Jerald is excited with the film.
“First time ko gagawa ng medyo drama at siyempre natutuwa tayo na mabigyan ng ganitong pagkakataon. Hopefully magustuhan siya ng mga manonood,” he said.
Note the film is an adaptation of the Mexican movie “Instructions Not Included.”
Playing the role of Mira is Althea Ruedas.
The film also stars Ryza Cenon, MC Muah and Nikko Natividad.
Directed by Crisanto Aquino, it opens in cinemas nationwide starting October 11.
