Weekly anthology series “Regal Studio Presents” is currently celebrating its second year anniversary.
It continues in its aim to provide viewers heart-warming stories that are also quite entertaining, enlightening, inasmuch as it also puts the spotlight on some of today’s brightest young stars.
These include Lexi Gonzales, Yasser Marta, Will Ashley, Althea Ablan, Shayne Sava, Dustin Yu, Miggs Cuaderno, Carlo San Juan, Larkin Castor, AZ Martinez, and Royce Cabrera.
As to why they decided to feature these young talents instead of more reliable veterans, Regal’s Roselle Monteverde explained, “This is so the platform would look fresh, current.”
Joey Reyes added, “I think it’s also a good training ground para sa ating mga young stars. Dito masusukat din kung gaano sila kagaling.”
GMA First Vice President for Program Management Joey Abacan, meanwhile, maintained, “What we want is for our actors to become actors. Ang ibig sabihin, yung kinakagat sila not because of the story but their acting. Parang we’d like to train our actors as actors.”
The program maintains the love team initiative, pairing each of these young stars with different partners.
Joey said, “I think yung adventure of mixing people who are not necessarily branded as love teams can be very exciting. Kung minsan, makakatsamba ka na pinagsama yung dalawa na, most unlikely, yun pala ang ganda ng chemistry pagdating sa audience. Aminin din natin na kung kayo ang magkasama parati, may sawa factor din, di ba?”
“Regal Studio Presents” airs Sundays 4:15pm on GMA.
