Vivamax offers fans yet another thought-provoking movie experience in “Langitngit.”
It follows the story of Layla (Manang Medina), a call center agent renting a room at an old ancestral house owned by Ruby Ruiz’s character, Manay Flor.
Also living in the house is Manay Flor’s grandson Popoy, portrayed by Itan Rosales.
Of course, as it is a Vivamax offering, you know already that Manang Medina and Itan Rosales will have tons of intimate scenes together.
But there is more to “Langitngit” than that.
Unknown to them, Manay Flor has long been observing them, constantly peeping through the holes in the wall and listening to their restrained groans and squeals as with the creaking of the bed as they make love.
Manay Flor believes Layla is a bad influence on Popoy.
She considers her the devil’s spawn meant to bring evil to her and her grandson.
She will then find ways to end their relationship.
Note, however, Layla is not the first girl in Popoy’s life.
Apparently, Manay Flor has been busy getting rid of them for years.
A Vivamax Original Movie directed by Christopher Novabos, “Langitngit” is actually reminiscent of “Psycho” something that the film’s writer acknowledged as an inspiration.
Ruby is excellent as the deranged Manay Flor.
Did she think twice in accepting the film given that it’s a Vivamax offering?
She said, “No. When I read the script, I immediately liked it. I didn’t worry that it was going to be shown on Vivamax. I’ve been appearing on Vivamax several times already. I liked the role, I liked the story and that’s it.”
“Langitngit” streams on Vivamax October 6.
