AJ Lim continued to show some glimpse of his old, deadly form in what is building up to be a stellar comeback tour after ruling the men’s singles competitions in the Alturas National Tennis Cup 2023 on Sunday, Oct. 1.
The 24-year-old former top junior netter didn’t only sweep the tournament but also lorded over the competitions, not even dropping a single set en route to his second title since his return following a two-year lull in tennis.
Lim, who kicked off his comeback tour with a title in the men’s singles event in the Olivarez Cup National Tennis Championships 2023, capped off the stellar run with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Hagedorn Open winner Eric Jed Olivarez in the final.
Lim was actually dominant in the tournament from start to finish, opening his campaign with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Randy Labor in the first round before taking down Alexis Acabo, 6-3, 6-2 to barge into the quarterfinals.
He then defeated Nilo Ledama, 6-3, 6-2, before outplaying NJ Enriquez, 6-1, 6-1 in the semis.
