Pops Fernandez is out to re-ignite her showbiz career signing a management contract with Viva Artist Agency.
But she is not in a rush to re-establish her presence in today’s scene.
She’d rather do it one step at a time.
“Ayoko ma-pressure,” she said, laughing. “Minsan kasi the pressure gets to you, lalo na kapag may pinagdadaanan ka. Siyempre tao lang tayo.”
The 56-year-old is trying hosting anew via TV5’s “For The Love.”
She also just released a track under Star Music titled “Always Loved.”
She is preparing to stage several concerts in the coming months.
“Actually, I decided to get busy again after performing in concerts abroad. Once I was back onstage and I got to sing live again, I realized, this is really where I want to be.”
She wants to try acting again.
“Habang kaya ko pa, habang may energy pa ako… Why not?”
As to what kind of movies, she said, “Ayoko na nang mabibigat. Gusto ko light lang muna. Maybe a comedy, a romantic comedy or a thriller. Mahilig kasi ako sa thriller so gusto ko ring subukan yun.”
Is this newfound energy related to talk about her supposedly finding new love?
Pops laughed and made clear, “I’m still single but maligaya naman ako. I’m in a very good place. Still single, but not sad. Still single, but not really looking. One day soon, the time will come. Hindi ko na hahanapin. Dadating naman ‘yan.”
The Concert Queen is soon to be a grandma with his son Robin announcing not long ago he is going to be a dad.
“That’s going to happen either latter part of this year or early 2024. It will be a boy. I’m excited. I can’t wait to be a lola. But I’d rather be called ‘lolli-pops.’”
