F2 Logistics played solid defensively and downed Nxled, 25-20, 25-14, 25-16, in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
Majoy Baron and Ivy Lacsina spearheaded the team’s rock-solid defense, combining for eight of the team’s 12 blocks as the Cargo Movers finally barged into the winning column after two starts.
Lacsina also paced F2 with her down-the-line smashes and came up with 15 kills to finish with 19 points, while Jolina Dela Cruz fired all her 10 points on attacks.
Both teams started out flat by falling into a maze of errors before the Cargo Movers finally picked up their game with Lacsina and Dela Cruz at the forefront of their charge.
F2 Logistics continued to dictate its tempo in the second frame but encountered stiff challenge from Nxled in the third frame after the Chameleons took an early 6-3 lead.
But it proved to be the Chameleons’ last stand as the Cargo Movers leaned on their cohesion and experience to prevail.
Kim Fajardo also stepped up for F2 Logistics with 11 points including two aces while skipper Aby Maraño and Ara Galang chipped in a combined 14 points.
