Award-winning director Paul Soriano kept his silence after resigning as Malacañang’s Presidential Adviser on Creative Communication last July.
This has since stirred speculation.
Paul is still mum about it, even as he quietly returned to filmmaking – his latest effort titled “The Fisher” being among those that screened at the recently concluded Tokyo International Film Festival.
Just recently, we chanced upon a reliable source who allowed us info relating to Paul’s decision to step down as Malacañang’s Presidential Adviser on Creative Communication.
The source told us: “Fulfilling yung work sa government but Direk Paul feels na he is better suited sa private sector…Tahimik kasi siya by nature and often nami- misinterpret as aloof. In reality friendly si Paul. Walang kaarte-arte sa katawan.”
The source added, “Having Polly (his second child with actress-wife Toni Gonzaga), also made him realize that he needs to protect his family — away from politics.”
The source dispelled notion that Paul had a falling out with the first family.
“All is well with Paul and the first family. Family will always be family,” the source said.
As to “The Fisher,” the source said, “Ibang klase yung comeback ni Direk Paul… because it is an expanded version of what he used to do. Aside from film and television work, he now also focuses on content creation.”
And this is exactly what Paul has been busy with of late.
The source told us: “He took courses on new trends in content creation and how to create better synergy between mainstream medium and social media…”
“Ang mundo ni Paul ay pagiging writer at director ng movies at commercials. He is happier doing these. Tahimik pero masaya rin,” the source ended.
