Paco Citizen Academy Foundation stamped its class once again and dominated the recent 21st Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) Inter-Scholastics Table Tennis Championship at Robinson’s Otis in Paco, Manila.
Inspired by the presence of Keith Rhynn Cruz, PCAF swept all four individual events apart from winning three of four team competitions in the event organized by FCAAF and presented by the Table Tennis Association for National Development and Robinson’s Mall Otis.
Cruz won the Under-19 class title in the recent World Table Tennis Youth Contender Championship in Palawan.
Khevin Cruz, younger brother of Keith Rhynn who is also the country’s women’s No.1, defeated Jahrzali Rivera in the all-Paco title clash in the boys’ singles elementary class.
In all, Cruz collected two golds after helping the PCAF boys’ elementary squad beat Xavier in the team competition. That enabled him to win the MVP award.
Other members of the team were Qeshaun Lau Crisostomo, Jharzali Rivera, and Efraim Jan Lau win the gold medal against Xavier School.
“The tournament is part of FCAAF’s 35th founding anniversary. For over three decades, we established a strong grassroots sports program through promotions, event organizing, and assistance not just for table tennis but for other 17 sports disciplines under the FCAAF supervision,” said PCAAF President Natalie Sia.
Sia, along with other FCAAF officials Charlie Lim, Wilson Tan and Joey Sy, awarded the medals and prizes to the winners.
St. Stephen High School prevented PCAF from completing an 8-gold show by winning the girls elementary gold.
