Regal Entertainment is out to offer fans a good scare, unleashing the latest chapter of its popular and enduring “Shake, Rattle & Roll” film series in “Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme.”
It has been a decade since the last installment and fans are quite excited about it, making this obvious via social media, with “Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme” ultimately becoming a trending topic.
But how extreme are the scares here?
“Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme” offers three stories: “Glitch,” “Rage,” and “Mukbang” as directed by Richard Somes, Joey de Guzman, and Jerrold Tarog, respectively.
All three insist on having done their best to jolt moviegoers.
Said Richard, “I think ‘Glitch’ would be very exciting for fans kasi it deals with a malevolent entity something na tradition na for ‘Shake Rattle & Roll.’ But as the title suggests, we took it to the extreme. Kung gaano ka-extreme e, malalaman ninyo as you watch it.”
As to “Rage,” Joey shared, “It’s about a group of friends trying to survive an infection so, perfect siya sa barkada.”
Jerrold’s “Mukbang” is about social media influencers terrorized by shape-shifting monsters.
“This one is fun but with lots of jump scares,” the director said.
Note “Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme” is the first film that Regal is making available in cinemas following a self-imposed hiatus.
VP and COO Roselle Monteverde proudly enthused, “We really made sure this is going to be one of the best kasi nga parang comeback din namin siya. So, all aspects of the film, including the music and editing, talagang level-up at pang big screen talaga.”
“Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme” features a mix of young, emerging actors, including social media personalities, as led by the returning Iza Calzado.
These are: Jane Oineza, Jane de Leon, RK Bagatsing, Paul Salas, Paolo Gumabao, AC Bonifacio, Donna Cariaga, Rob Gomez, Angel Guardian, Sarah Edwards, Dustin Yu, Miggs Cuaderno, Mika Reins, Bryce Eusebio, Jewel Milag, Esnyr Ranollo, Jana Taladro, Elle Villanueva, Phi Palmos, Ninong Ry, Ian Ginema, Francis Mata, Jericho Ejercito and Girlie Ejercito.
