Chery Tiggo, Cignal and Choco Mucho try to stretch their winning streaks on Tuesday, Nov. 21, in their hopes of boosting their semis bids in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Toting a 6-1 win-loss record, the Chery Tiggo Crossovers aim to tighten their grip on the second spot when they tangle with the Cignal HD Spikers (6-2) at 4 p.m., while the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, which are also toting a 6-1 mark, gun for an seventh straight victory in their 6 p.m. collision with the skidding F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.
While boasting of a four-game winning run following last week’s 14-25, 25-20, 28-26, 25-19 victory over PLDT, Chery Tiggo is not taking Cignal lightly as the HD Spikers are also on a five-game winning run that included a 25-23, 22-25, 26-24, 26-24 triumph over F2 Logistics last Thursday Nov. 16.
Expect a thrilling matchup between the two as they aim to stay within striking distance with league leader Creamline, which is carrying an immaculate 7-0 record.
Sister EJ and Eya Laure, as well as Mylene Paat and Ponggay Gaston are expected to fuel the Crossovers against the HD Spikers’ lethal weapons in Ces Molina, Jovelyn Gonzaga and Vanie Gandler.
Meanwhile, focus is also on Choco Mucho which is riding the crest of an 18-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-16 triumph over Petro Gazz also last Thursday.
The Flying Titans’ all-around game, which was evident in their last match after tallying 51 kills, eight blocks and six aces, will be tough to match with Sisi Rondina, Kat Tolentino and Isa Molde leading the charge.
