Kaye Pingol wants nothing but redemption come Manila Hustle 3×3 Season 2.
With Uratex Dream bowing out early last year, nothing will stop the former National University standout from pushing her team to greater heights this time around.
“Madami kaming natutunan from that experience and kita ko naman na my team really improved a lot from that,” she said.
Pingol understands the heavy burden of being the leader of the Dream in the women’s 3×3 international invitational presented by Uratex and Smart.
And it’s no surprise that she took it upon herself to really step up her game, leading up to the squad’s solid performances in the other tilts last year.
Uratex Dream won the Philippine leg of Red Bull Half Court National Finals and even reached the quarters of the World Final; got to the semifinals of Asia Tour 3×3; and ruled the WMovement’s First 3×3 Elite Invitational Tournament.
To Pingol, the team’s success shows how vast the Dream’s growth has been since that subpar showing in Season 1.
“Malaking tulong din yung mga tournaments sa international kasi nakalaban namin doon yung top teams and top players, meaning very high talaga yung level ng competition,” she said. “Dahil doon, tumaas yung confidence, skills, and yung intensity namin as a team kaya excited kami to perform ngayon.”
Pingol will be joined by Sam Harada, Shanda Anies, and Chinese center Li Renzhu in this tilt which has the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas as official technical partner, Seiko as official timekeeper, and B’lue as official hydration partner.
