Actor-singer Ian Veneracion’s management team finally broke their silence relating to a sticky concern hurled against their talent on social media.
Earlier, writer-director Ronald Carballo exposed via Facebook how the team had supposedly asked 500,000 pesos for their client’s appearance at a parade.
Making matters worse is his claim that Ian’s camp also supposedly asked for an additional 100,000 pesos if and when the event went beyond the allotted 2-hour limit.
The issue quickly became hot topic.
According to Ian’s management however, the said post was filled with “inaccuracies.”
They made clear: “The reported budget mentioned in the post was not consistent with our discussions. Furthermore, contrary to the claims, we did not request any additional charges.”
The team is adamant that what Ronald did was tantamount to public humiliation and that they are now “exploring legal options” to address the same.
But in a recent post, Ronald insisted: “HINDI ako magsusulat nang hindi ko nilinaw ang facts.”
The statement of Ian’s management in full:
As the management team of Ian Veneracion, we would like to address the malicious public post made yesterday by Mr. Ronaldo Carballo concerning an event for which Ian was invited.
In managing our client’s professional engagements, we maintain a strict policy of confidentiality in all business dealings, ensuring transparency and respect both with clients and artists. When approached for this event, we provided our standard rate and availability, leaving the decision to the client’s discretion based on their budget and requirements.
However, we have noticed inaccuracies in the information being publicly circulated. The reported budget mentioned in the post was not consistent with our discussions.
Furthermore, contrary to the claims, we did not request any additional charges.
Our terms were clear, especially regarding the hours required for the event, and at no point did we ask for a solo float.
For this particular event, our communication was with a friend of the coordinator, adding multiple layers to the negotiation process. This is not the typical direct line of communication we usually have with clients or their immediate representatives.
Attempts were made to contact Mr. Carballo directly to correct the misinformation he is spreading; unfortunately, he opted to block us and refuse any means of communication.
We uphold the values of integrity in journalism and the importance of presenting a balanced narrative. Rather than verifying the information, Mr. Carballo appears to have engaged in online behavior that undermines these principles, in an attempt to PUBLICLY HUMILIATE our client and our team.
Considering these developments, we are exploring legal options to address the online defamation by Mr. Carballo.”
