Filipino Andy Gemao got another opportunity to prove his worth after getting an invite in the 8th Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Global camp next Friday, Feb. 16, at the Mojo UP Sports Complex in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Gemao, 16, will try to display his skills before the watchful eyes, including international coaches and scouts in the camp designed for top high school players from all over the world.
The three-day camp will see the 40 promising cagers from Africa, Europe, the Americas and Asia plunge undergo athletic testing, movement efficiency, skills development stations, shooting and skills competitions, life skill seminars and classic 5-on-5 games.
Former Chicago Bulls big man Joakim Noah and Seattle Supersonics forward Detlef Schrempf will grace in the event.
On the last day of the training camp, awards like the Kim Bohuny Camp MVP, the 3-point Champion, the Defensive MVP, the Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award and Playoff MVP will be given to outstanding participants.
Gemao and other selected players will also attend the 2024 NBA All-Star weekend.
The 6-foot-1 cager has already joined the event alongside Sacred Heart School’s Jelomar Rota in the Abu Dhabi edition last June.
Gilas Pilipinas members Kai Sotto and AJ Edu have joined the camp in the past.
