A new era in Philippine football is set to dawn as the inaugural 7s Super League formally kicks off with elite teams boasting top-tier talents across Metro Manila taking the spotlight at the McKinley Stadium in Taguig City beginning March 10.
Organized by 7×7 Football Philippines, this revolutionary league promises to redefine football in the country with its unique seven-a-side format
“This will be a game-changer for football in the Philippines. The unique format, combined with the caliber of players involved, promises to deliver an unforgettable football experience,” said 7×7 Football Philippines CEO and Founder and former Azkals star Anton Del Rosario in a press conference at the Mansion Sports Bar in Makati on Thursday, Feb. 15.
Del Rosario was joined by Executive Director 7×7 Philippines Ethan Lee and AIA Philippines Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Henson.
A total of seven teams is set to compete in the fast-paced and more dynamic style of football games led by Alabang South Supers, BGC Soldiers, and Pampanga Strikers. Completing the cast are Paranaque Super Nets, Quezon City Heroes, Siniloan GOM Blues, and Pasig City Pirates.
Highlighting the league’s commitment to its “7×7 Goals of J.O.Y,” focusing on creating Jobs, providing Opportunities, and nurturing the Youth through football, Del Rosario also expressed his gratitude to its longstanding partner AIA Philippines.
“AIA Philippines understands the needs of its customers and provides holistic solutions that include life protection, health insurance, savings, education, retirement, and investment,” said del Rosario. “Thanks to AIA, we are able to give players the opportunity to showcase their talent on a bigger stage with the 7s Super League.”
