The Philippine lawn bowls team continued to make waves overseas as it bagged four gold medals in the 15th Asian Bowls Championships held over the weekend in Pattaya, Thailand.
Rosita Bradborn and Angeleca Abatayo displayed great marksmanships and topped the women’s and junior women’s singles events, respectively, in the week-long tournament.
Also delivering the precious metals for the country were Ainie Knight, Hazel Hagonoy and Sharon Hauters who reigned in women’s triple team event and Elmer Abatayo and Rodel Labayo who lorded over the men’s pair category.
In all, the PH team also brought home 1 silver and 3 bronze medals to finish second overall behind Malaysia.
Knight, Hagonoy and Marisa Baronda settled for silver in the triple event while netting bronze were Elmer Abatayo in men’s singles, Bradborn and Marisa Baronda in women’s pairs, and Homer Mercado, Leo Carreon and Ronald Lising in the men’s triple.
