Justin Brownlee is linking up with fellow former PBA imports Thomas Robinson and KJ McDaniels after being introduced as the new import of Pelita Jaya in the Indonesian Basketball League on Wednesday, March 20.
Brownlee, who earlier got the clearance from the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas and mother team Barangay Ginebra in the PBA to play overseas, bolstered a team that featured local stars Andakara Prastawa and American-Indonesian Brandon Jawato.
The stint will serve the 35-year-old forward well as he is looking for ways to keep himself busy and stay in shape while waiting for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying tournament in July.
Brownlee couldn’t play in the PBA as of the moment as the league is staging the Season 48 Philippine Cup to be followed immediately by the next season’s all-Filipino conference.
Aside from McDaniels and Robinson, Brownlee is also set to play with former NBA players Malachi Richardson and JaQuori McLaughlin and Indonesian national team naturalized import Anthony Bean.
Brownlee is set for a much-awaited debut for PJ on Saturday, March 23 against Rans SIMBA Bogor.
Pelita Jaya is currently sporting a 7-1 card.
