Veteran South Korean actors Park Sung Woong, Oh Dae Hwan, Oh Dal-Su, and Joo Seok-tae join forces in “The Wild,” a suspenseful crime thriller directed by Kim Bong-han.
It follows the story of Woo-chul (Park Sung-woong), a former boxer who landed in prison after accidentally killing an opponent.
After getting an early discharge due to good behavior, Woo-chul now aims to live a quiet life.
But his old friend, Do-sik (Oh Dae-hwan) would have none of it, eventually luring him into his gang.
Woo-chul would go on to find himself trapped in Do-sik’s intricate web that also involves a corrupt police detective, Jeong-gon (Joo Seok-tae), and a drug smuggler named Gak-su (Oh Dal-su).
Will Woo-chul ever have the chance to turn things around? Or will he forever be entangled in a life of lawlessness?
Also starring rising Korean actress Seo Ji-Hye, “The Wild” tackles love, friendship, betrayal, redemption.
Director Kim Bong-han, who also directed notable Korean Films such as “The Golden Holiday” and “Ordinary Person,” expressed his desire to immerse audiences in Korean noir.
“I wanted to make a Korean noir that’s both heartless and humane at the same time,” he said.
