Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Moira de la Torre is all about self-love these days and for good reason.
Following personal battles, Moira believes it is a necessity, part and parcel to her moving onwards and upwards, ultimately becoming a better version of herself.
She told us, “I think alam ng katawan mo kapag naaalagaan siya ng tama. Alam ng katawan natin kapag minamahal siya ng tama.”
She attested to feeling more confident, focused.
Moira made clear, “Some might say it’s a selfish thing but it’s not. Personally, ang daming magagandang changes nangyari sa akin. Not just physically, but the healing I experienced inside.”
Note that Moira has lost a lot of weight since.
“I didn’t realize it then but I was putting too much pressure on myself,” she related, recalling her struggles with weight gain.
“I started all these diet. I went vegan, keto, I’ve tried intermittent fasting, everything. I actually became bulimic for two years. My situation and I actually gained more weight.”
Her advice to those eager to follow her path?
“Don’t be too hard on yourself. I know that’s such a cliché thing, but to be honest, I started losing weight when I stopped trying. So, don’t be too hard on yourself. Be unapologetic when it comes to choosing yourself. It’s not a bad thing.”
Moira is now even busier. She is putting the finishing touches on a new album while also making plans for an upcoming US tour.
She has also signed up as endorser of Bona Slim 15-in-1 coffee.
She is happy with the partnership.
“I relate very much with Bona Slim’s vision. I’m very, very grateful to be part of the family. Ang laki ng tiwalang binigay nila sa akin and I like that.”
Moira actually wrote a jingle for Bona Slim.
“When we went to the studio, I really felt their respect and love and I really, really appreciate that. I love it that they gave me freedom to relay their message and how to address it in a song.”
But what is Bona Slim’s message?
Said CEO Jethro Cerezo, “Bona Slim is about confidence. It’s about what you really want for yourself. I handpicked Moira personally because I believe in her story and her holistic approach in being healthy and being confident.”
