Lovi Poe is doing a new film for Regal Entertainment and she is quite excited about it.
Titled, “Guilty Pleasure,” it will reunite Lovi with one of her favorite film directors, Connie Macatuno, whom she last worked with several years back in the highly-acclaimed, “Malaya.”
The actress said, “I’m quite excited to work again with Direk Connie. I really enjoyed working with her in ‘Malaya.’ I am looking forward to learning a lot from her again doing ‘Guilty Pleasure.’ So excited!”
Beyond that, Lovi is happy to be back in Regal.
“Of course, I’m really happy to do another film for Regal,” she added. “I owe them a lot. They were the first to believe in me, years back so, there was no hesitation on my part in accepting this project.”
Written by Noreen Capili and Trisha Mae Delez, “Guilty Pleasure” explores the complex relationship and personal struggles of three lawyers as they navigate their way through love, betrayal, revenge.
The three lawyers in the film are to be played by Lovi, Jameson Blake and JM de Guzman.
Said Lovi, “it’s my first time to play a lawyer so it’s another facet of the film that excites me. I also like it that I get to work with both Jameson and JM.”
She hinted, “My character in this film will get romantically involved with both.”
Will there be steamy love scenes?
“Probably,” she answered with a smile. “Let’s see.”
But isn’t she worried as to how her husband Monty Blencowe would react? Did she even ask his permission?
“No,” Lovi said. “I don’t need to ask permission. Alam naman nya ang line of work ko and he respects my job.”
“He’s actually very excited for me to do this project kasi he know it’s been a while since I ddid a movie here,” she related.
“Guilty Pleasure” is a pet project of Regal’s Roselle Monteverde.
Roselle said, “I really want to push this project and have the best work on it because it is all about women empowerment – something that I advocate.”
The movie’s cast also includes Sarah Edwards, Angelica Lao, Dustin Yu.
