The University of Perpetual Help men’s and women’s volleyball teams are determined to keep their winning ways going when they battle teams from Arellano University in the NCAA Season 99 volleyball tournament on Sunday, April 28, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
The defending champion Altas Spikers will try to stretch their winning streak to seven games against the Chiefs at 9 a.m. while the Lady Altas go for their fifth victory this season when they tussle with the Lady Chiefs at 11:30 a.m.
Reigning MVP Louie Ramirez is expected to connive anew with Jeff Marapoc and JC Enerciso when they battle Arellano.
The trio shone the brightest for the Altas Spikers in their straight-set win over the San Sebastian Golden Stags, 25-16, 25-22, 25-18, the last time.
The Altas Spikers need to sweep their elimination assignments so they can advance outright to the finals as they intend to notch their 14th title in the grand old league.
They are currently tied with the EAC Generals.
In the distaff side, the Lady Altas Spikers are toting a 4-2 card and a win against the Lady Chiefs can untangle them from a three-way logjam with Mapua and Letran for third place.
Perpetual will rely on its veterans in Shaila Omipon, Jhasmine Sapin, MVP Mary Rhosed Dapol and Razel Aldea.
The CSB Lady Blazers are leading the way with 6-0 card followed by Lyceum Lady Pirates with a 5-0 card.
