Rain or Shine’s key rotation players in Jhonard Clarito and Shaun Ildefonso got rewarded with fresh contracts after signing their respective two-year extensions on Monday, April 29.
The two were joined by their agent Danny Espiritu in the contract signing while representing the Elasto Painters franchise was team governor Atty. Mamerto Mondragon.
With the move, Rain or Shine ensured that its valuable pieces will remain intact in the foreseeable future to provide supporting cast to the team that is being built around fast-rising young guns in the likes of Andrei Caracut, Santi Santillan and rookie Adrian Nocum.
Even in the ongoing All-Filipino Cup, the two have been providing solid contributions to the team with Clarito even starting a couple of games for head coach Yeng Guiao.
The third-year guard out of De Ocampo Memorial College has carved out a spot in Guiao’s rotation, proving to be a great two-way player with averages of 11.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.5 blocks in 21.8 minutes per contest.
Ildefonso, on the other hand, has been a decent backup guard for ROS but has proven capable of producing numbers if given with enough minutes.
He even had a career-high of 15 points off the bench in the big win over Converge which was a part of the Rain or Shine’s searing five-game winning run in the conference.
