Chicago-based Filipino singer Nick Vera Perez, who has been crowned Mr. United Nations International 2023, is currently in the country to promote his new single “Laging Ikaw.”
Culled from the album of the same title released in 2021, Nick is hoping “Laging Ikaw” will make its mark among fellow Pinoys, noting it has already earned tons of listens across the globe.
“Gusto ko talaga makilala rin dito siyempre,” he said. “Iba pa rin kapag kilala ka sa sarili mong bansa.”
To this end, Nick is embarking on an extensive mall tour.
First stop is Zamboanga City, his hometown, on May 9, where he will perform at the atrium of KCC Mall de Zamboanga.
He will then visit General Santos City, performing at SM city Gen San on Mother’s Day, May 12.
It will be followed with a stop in Davao City on May 14, with Nick performing at Gaisano City Gate.
Manila-based music fanatics will be able to catch Nick at Farmer’s Plaza in Cubao on May 18, Star Mall EDSA-Shaw on May 19, Isetann Recto on May 23 and Sta. Lucia Mall on May 24.
Nick will be supported by another Chicago-based singer, Evelyn Francia, throughout the tour.
He also welcomes local talents to join him onstage.
Aside from “Laging Ikaw,” Nick has released other albums. These include “I Am Ready,” “Our Christmas,” “Parte Ng Buhay Ko,” and “UnAfraid.”
As with “Laging Ikaw,” all of his albums are available in digital music platforms.
Nick started singing at the age of 3.
“Ito yung binibigyan ako ng piso ng mga tao per song,” he related. “Dun ko talaga na-hone yung love ko for singing.”
He decided to set it aside while in college.
“I wanted to focus on my studies then. Ngayon, nagbabalik ako sa singing dahil ito talaga ang pangarap ng dad ko para sa akin,” he said.
Nick recently completed his Doctorate in Nursing at Walden University, where he also completed his Masters.
He is currently working on his fourth degree as nurse practitioner to be a DNP (Doctorate Nurse Practitioner)- NP (Nurse Practitioner).
