In an exciting turn of events that would benefit Philippine volleyball immensely, Petro Gazz stalwarts Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips, alongside PLDT standout Savannah Davison have began the process of changing federations as they look to represent the country in the international scene.
Sooner or later, the trio will expected to don the colors of the Philippine women’s national volleyball team as confirmed by Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Tony Boy Liao and PNVF national team commission.
Petro Gaz standout Van Sickle is currently seeing action and having an impressive season-opening conference with the Angels, whom she steered on cusp of a bronze medal finish in the ongoing All-Filipino against Chery Tiggo Crossovers.
Likewise, Davison is looking to bring in valuable experience into the promising Philippine squad which could be the answer to its evident lapses in the global stage.
While Van Sickle hails from a Fil-American background with meaningful roots tracing back to San Emilio, Ilocos Sur, Fil-Canadian Davison has been showcasing fine talent for the PLDT High Speed Hitters in her back-to-back conferences in the local pro league.
Proving her importance to the country’s volleyball program, the 25-year-old Davison was part of the 2024 PNVF Champions League title run on top of displaying individual brilliance that saw her claim the MVP honor.
As if that wasn’t good news enough, Petro Gazz middle blocker Phillips has also decided to join the switch after also previously making her debut with the national team in the 2021 Asian Club Volleyball Championships.
As of writing, both Phillips and Van Sickle are still affiliated with USA Volleyball, while Davison answers to the call of Volleyball Canada.
