University of Perpetual Help drew 23 points from Jemalyn Menor and downed Arellano University in five exciting sets, 25-22, 17-25, 26-24, 21-25, 15-13, in the NCAA Season 99 Junior’s Volleyball Finals Sunday, May 12, at the FilOil EcoOil Center in San Juan City.
Also shining for coaches Jason Sapin and Sandy Rieta were Sherrie Acosta, libero Janine Espiritu and setter Jam Monte as the Junior Altas inched closer to winning their best-of-three title series.
Acosta contributed 20 points, Espiritu had 22 digs and 23 excellent receptions and Monte recorded 20 excellent sets for the Junior Altas squad.
“Hopefully, we can sustain our momentum and win the champion this season,” said Sapin.
The Tony Tamayo-owned educational institution will go for the clincher on Wednesday.
Catherine Chu paced Arellano with 34 points, 21 digs and 10 excellent receptions while Samantha Maranan added 31 points.
