Star Magic recently hosted its first ever “Mamamagic Day,” dedicated to honoring incredible mothers.
Held at the Brittany Hotel Villar City in Cavite last May 11, the pre-mother’s celebration was a testament to the profound bond shared between mothers, their children, and the talent management family.
Hosted by VJ Ai dela Cruz, the special carpet was graced by the presence of the Star Magic Freshies, Krystal Mejes, Heart Ramos, Lance Lucido, Chunsa Jung, Marc Santiago, and Jana Agoncillo, alongside their respective mothers.
Star Magic mothers Dimples Romana, Vina Morales, Desiree Del Valle, Nikki Valdez, Jolina Magdangal, Dimples Romana, Elisse Joson, Melai Cantiveros, and Janella Salvador illuminated the room with their presence, exuding the warmth and wisdom of motherhood.
Young and new moms Pamu Pamorada, Hasna Cabral, Mika Pajares, and Riva Quenery, along with their adorable little ones, also joined in the celebration.
The evening witnessed soul-stirring performances by the TNT Kids Aliyah, Dylan, and Kim, together with Klarisse De Guzman, who even got teary-eyed during her song tribute.
“Yung mom ko kasi is in the hospital right now. So actually ngayon, muntik na ‘kong ‘di makapunta. So ang hirap kumanta… Happy Mother’s Day, Ma! Pagaling ka. Laban lang,” Klarisse shared after her performance.
During the heartfelt event, Star Magic moms shared profound insights and pieces of advice emphasizing happiness, discipline, and the importance of self-care to better nurture their families.
Reflecting on her lived experience of motherhood, Dimples declared, “I’d rather have happy kids than successful kids.”
Nikki said, “Never be sorry or guilty for disciplining your kids… For me, discipline equates to tough love.”
Elisse meanwhile, gave a poignant reminder to mothers everywhere to prioritize taking care of themselves the way they take care of their families.
“We’re still ‘us’ bago pa tayo naging nanay. ‘Pag inalagaan natin ang sarili natin, mas magiging present tayo sa ating family, sa ating mga anak,” said Elisse.
Jolina shed light on the magic a mother naturally possesses, saying, “Alam niyo kapag naging mommy kasi, naging parent ka na, hindi mo akalain na magagawa mo yung mga bagay na akala mo hindi mo kaya. Unang una na ‘yang pagbalance ng work.”
Asked how she keeps her family happy, Melai said, “I have to be happy first,” and then jokingly added, “before I enter the kingdom of love,” prompting laughter from everyone amid the emotional moment.
She went on, “Kailangan maging masaya muna ako bago ko sila
mapasaya. Paano ko sila mapapasaya kung miserable ang buhay ko?”
When asked for advice for new moms, Janella highlighted the value of learning from their children.
“Siguro kasi ako, as a new mom, marami pa ako natututunan. And I think that’s the best advice I can give—na as much as we [moms] love to teach our kids new things, marami sila natututunan from us. I think it’s also a learning process for us as well.”
The event was a rollercoaster of emotions. The surprise video tributes with heartfelt messages for Star Magic moms brought many to tears, filling the room with a mix of teary eyes, laughter, and joy.
Star Magic’s “Mamamagic” Day is truly an event that created memorable experiences for Star Magic moms and their children. It left an indelible imprint on the hearts of all in attendance, showing the magic of a mother’s love and the shared admiration for all the moms.
