Kiko Estrada’s return to television is a success.
His TV5 afternoon series “Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa,” has been gaining traction, earning him tons of new fans.
He is thankful, of course, admitting how he had doubted he’d be able to bounce back following years of seeming listlessness.
He said, “It’s been a while since I’ve done TV and I’m really, really grateful for the opportunity. I’m also quite thankful that people have embraced the show. We’ve put a lot into it and we promise to give them more of the same.”
Kiko would go on to thank his co-stars in the show, namely Sarah Lahbati, Sid Lucero, Rhen Escaño, and Gardo Versoza.
“They are all very good at what they do and it inspires me to do my best as well. It’s really a great team,” he said.
As to him now being ranked alongside Coco Martin and Ruru Madrid, two of today’s more viable action-centric stars, he said, “It’s flattering as, of course, both of them are quite good at what they do and they are very popular. I have heard many good things about them. I hope I’d be able to work with them someday.”
Kiko prepared immensely for his role as Norman dela Cruz in “Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa.”
This includes actual jiu-jitsu training.
“It is because of my intense desire to actually do my own fight scenes, stunt scenes. I want to be as authentic as possible.”
During the course of our interview, his grandfather, Paquito Diaz, was mentioned.
It made Kiko emotional.
He explained, “He is a huge inspiration and it just saddens me that he never got to see me do all these things. I would have loved to have worked with him.”
Kiko will celebrate his 29th birthday on June 4. He intimated that he is planning on doing something big for his followers.
“Just my own way of saying thank you and you know, give back, reciprocate the support,” he said.
Fans should also watch out for an exciting announcement as “Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa” enters an exciting new chapter this coming June.
