Kiefer Ravena will bring his championship poise to a Philippine club team as he joined Strong Group Athletics which will compete in the 43rd William Jones Cup in Taipei, Taiwan slated July 13 to 21.
The 30-year-old veteran guard recently helped the Shiga Lakes reign supreme in the Division 2 of the Japanese basketball tourney and his addition will be a huge boost for SGA in the week-long cagefest.
The former Ateneo star expressed his excitement to play for a team that will be bannered by former NBA star Dwight Howard.
“I’m really excited to be part of the Strong Group and play in the Jones Cup. It’s a great opportunity for me to showcase my skills in front of our kababayans again and contribute to the team’s success,”
Also committed to play for SGA are in Fil-Americans Jordan Heading and PBA-hopeful Carlan Tiongson
Ravena’s addition will be a huge boost for Charles Tiu-mentored squad which is aching to break the five-year title drought by a PH team or club squad.
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters represented the country in the 2023 edition but finished only fifth.
