Movie queen Vilma Santos may yet have an entry in the forthcoming 50th anniversary of the Metro Manila Film Festival.
On social media recently, Vilma posted a group picture showing her in a meeting with Mentorque producer Bryan Dy.
She said she was excited about the prospect of doing another movie this year.
The yet undisclosed project shall be directed by Antoinette Jadaone and Dan Villegas, who were also present at the meeting.
Dy, who met with members of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors later that same day (May 18) via Zoom, said the meeting with Ate Vi was “insightful, productive, and fun.”
He said, “Thank you Maám Vilma Santos Recto for sharing your valuable time, knowledge and wisdom!”
Dy is a longtime supporter of Vilma and her husband, Sen. Ralph Recto. He said it has always been a dream of his to produce a movie starring Ate Vi.
Vilma, on the other hand said, that in considering an offer, she makes sure the material is new to her, or if it has similarities with what she has done before, it must have a remarkable difference.
Earlier, Mentorque Productions announced that it is fielding the project, “Biringan,” as its entry to the 2024 MMFF. The projected movie’s main cast and creative team will soon be announced, Mr Dy told SPEEd.
