The retooled Beach Volleyball Republic on Tour continues to push for a more competitive platform for beach volleyball in the country.
Since 2016, the BVR on Tour has evolved, focusing on amateur talent and providing the beach volleyball athletes a platform to compete throughout the year.
The BVR on Tour is also giving a pathway to non-collegiate athletes who choose to continue playing amateur beach volleyball even after college.
Believing in the power sports to educate and empower the youth thus along with their tournaments, the organization provides grassroots camp called “BVR Sandroots” to local youth as well as referees courses and coaches’ clinic.
With its true mission of growing the game, the BVR is looking forward to have more talent discovered and given opportunities through these tournaments.
The BVR also aims to be the arm of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) in pushing Philippine Volleyball’s “Golden Era” not just in indoor but also in the sand court.
The first BVR on Tour of the year will be held in Sipalay City at the Poblacion Beach on June 22 and 23.
It will be the second straight year that Sipalay City will host the BVR on Tour, where Honey Grace Cordero stood out and won a championship together with sand court veteran Roma Joy Doromal last year. Cordero will be suiting up for National University for college in UAAP Season 87.
Cordero will be paired with Kat Epa, as they brace for a tough challenge from Far Eastern University’s Melody Pons and Sheena Cafe., who will also compete in the two-day tournament. FEU ruled the BVR Summer Kickoff at the Seafront Residences in Batangas last April.
A guest team from Australia will vie for the men’s crown.
Other participants in the women’s division are University of Santo Tomas’ Sofiah Pagara and Khy Progella, Strong Group Athletics’ Gen and Euri Eslapor, Pontevedra’s Perper Cosas and Erjane Magdato, and two teams from Sipalay, the pairs of Kimberly Babe Deuyan and Trisha Gene Geneblaza, and Japttia Rose Arquiro and Princess Kyle Judilla.
Aussies Luca Rocker-Graham and Killian Donovan headlines the men’s side, which includes Alas Pilipinas’ Ranran Abdilla and AJ Pareja.
UST’s Aldwin Gupiteo and Dom Gabito, FEU’s Kyle Retiza and Mikko Espartero, DLSU’s Andre Espejo and Chris Hernandez, Air Force’s Pol Salvador and Edwin Tolentino, Cebu’s Samlet Booc and Michael Marabe, and two Sipalay pairs, Ivan Sanao and John Lloyd Guntan, and Johnrel Talita and John Joseph Mirasol have also entered.
