The Alas Pilipinas women’s volleyball team got the needed boost after reports said Creamline stars Tots Carlos and Jema Galanza are joining the crew for the 2024 FIVB Challenger Cup slated late next month.
It can be recalled that Carlos and Galanza were initially included in the pool that competed in the AVC Challenge Cup held early this month, but were unable to join due to the Cool Smashers’ long-planned trip to Spain.
Apart from Carlos and Galanza, reports said collegiate standouts Bella Belen and Alyssa Solomon of National University are also being included to the pool.
The latest development provides enough arsenal for the Nationals, who already have hard-hitting spiker Sisi Rondina and veteran setter Jia De Guzman bannering the crew. They are coached by Jorge De Brito.
The FIVB Challenger Cup is set July 4 to 7 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium with eight teams slated to compete that include Kenya, Argentina, Puerto Rico and Vietnam. The remaining three teams have yet to be finalized through the 2024 European Gold League and the world ranking.
