Ferodina is out with a brand new single under Ivory Music titled “Tumitig Ka.”
It is quite catchy, replete with a throbbing beat that allows for involuntary head-bobbing even at first listen.
It’s no surprise that Ferodina, composed of Fender Dimalanta on vocals and guitar, Steven Naguit on bass, Joaquin Rodrigo on drums, and Brian Feliciano on keyboards and saxophone, would be able to come up with something as hypnotically magical as “Tumitig Ka.”
They are proficient musicians armed with years of experience after all.
Fender, Joaquin, and Brian are in fact products of “Eat Bulaga’s” Music Hero contest, playing alongside the likes of Blaster Silonga and Zild, who would go on to earn fame as part of IV of Spades.
“We got together mainly because we all want to create original music,” said Fender.
“And to inspire people along the way,” added Steven, who had been playing, creating music with Fender for years prior.
It goes without saying that “Tumitig Ka” not unlike past outputs, is a collaborative effort.
“That has been our work ethos. I usually come in with an idea, and then everyone adds something to it until we complete the song,” said Fender.
Joaquin describes “Tumitig Ka” as a so-called “abangers anthem.”
Asked to expound, he said, “It’s about a guy waiting for a couple to break up so he can have a chance with the girl.”
“I think it is very relatable,” said Brian.
He is correct.
Not a few fans were seen singing along when they performed it live at Viva Cafe recently.
So what’s next for them, we asked.
Fender related, “We aim to keep going, to keep on creating good music.”
Brian added, “It is a huge challenge for us given that we live far away from each other but this is our passion.”
“We are planning to do more gigs, to engage more fans. They inspire us as much as we inspire them,” said Steven.
Joaquin affirmed, “We are definitely in this for the long haul.”
“Tumitig Ka” is now available in various digital music platforms.
