University of Perpetual Help DALTA is opening its doors to aspiring volleyball players as it holds open tryouts as part of its preparations for the NCAA Season 100.
Gearing up as early as now, the Lady Altas, which wrapped up their stint at sixth place in Season 99, and the defending champions Junior Altas Girls are staging their test on June 28 and 29 at the Home of the Altas gym 2 inside the campus.
This is part of the preparation of the Las Pinas-based squad for the 100th year of the grand old league as historical as its 50th anniversary.
Coach Sandy Rieta announced that the tryout is open for fresh Senior High graduates and transfers in women’s side while for the girls are incoming Grade 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.
“If you know you have talent and skills, try to try out with Team Lady Altas,” Rieta said.
The women’s senior team bade farewell to its four key players in Season 98 MVP Mary Rhose Dapol, Razel Aldea, Krisha Cordero and Charmaine Ocado after fulfilling their collegiate duties.
Four have also graduated in the defending champs Altas Girls, including Finals MVP Jemalyn Menor, skipper Francheska Delgado, Genna Cris Jimenez and Aizel Reyes.
Menor is expected to play for the Lady Altas next season.
The Lady Altas hopefuls begin their training from 12 noon to 4 p.m. while the Altas girls start from 4 to 8 p.m. All participants are advised to bring their proper training kits and tumblers.
Meanwhile, the Junior Altas boys volleyball team kicks off its tryout on July 2 and 3 at the same venue.
