Thai actor Max Nattapol was in the country recently.
It was his second.
He was here prior for a fan meet.
He said, “I really enjoy being here. The people are so warm and welcoming.”
He loves local cuisine, too.
His favorite? Halo-halo.
“We have something similar in Thailand but you’re version is quite good,” he said.
Max is part of Viva’s latest film “Kuman Thong,” starring Cindy Miranda, Althea Ruedas, among others.
It his first Filipino film feature and he is quite happy about it.
“I really enjoyed working with Cindy, Althea and our director Xian Lim,” he shared, going on to describe Xian as someone “cool.”
The 30-year-old expressed his wish to do more films here.
“Yeah, I would love that. I am open to doing more work here,” he said. “I’m looking for interesting stories to do.”
In “Kuman Thong,” Max plays the role of Cindy’s lover.
He said, “Cindy is really good. She is quite an actress. She is quite scary in ‘Kuman Thong.’”
For those not in the know, a Kuman Thong is an amulet of sorts that looks like a little boy.
According to Thai folk religion, those who worship the image will be granted their wishes.
But they have to do it properly or something bad could happen.
Does Max believe in the Kuman Thong?
He said, “It’s a huge part of Thai culture. I know a lot of people who believe in it, including my sister but I don’t necessarily practice it.”
That said, he encouraged Pinoys to watch their film, noting, “It will open your eyes to a unique part of Thai culture and belief.”
“Kuman Thong” is now in PH cinemas.
It will also be screened in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
