Michele Gumabao wants another stab at show business.
She just signed with Joel Roslin, who also manages the careers of comedians Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola.
The 31-year-old told us, “I feel like it’s inevitable, me joining showbiz that is, nasa dugo ko naman.”
Michele, the daughter of former actor Dennis Roldan, gained notice prior as volleyball player.
It is something that is very close to her heart.
“I think volleyball is going to be a constant in my life,” she said. “It led me to where I am today and I’m grateful.”
Michele would earn increased popularity joining “Pinoy Big Brother” in 2014.
“Actually, subok lang yun,” she related. “I just want to know how it would be like to be in Kuya’s house.”
It would lead to her trying pageantry four years later, earning the 2018 Binibining Pilipinas Globe title.
She finished second runner-up to Rabiya Mateo at the Miss Universe-PH tilt in 2020.
“I think I’m done with pageantry,” she said. “I’m starting a whole new chapter, I want to try something new.”
Michele also dabbled in politics prior, being named second nominee of the Mothers for Change (MOCHA) party-list in 2021.
“I’m not closing my doors on politics,” she said. “Andun pa rin yung passion ko to serve, to be of help to people.”
As to her next move, she said, “There’s nothing concrete yet at this point but I’m open to hosting shows. I’m also interested in acting. Actually, nagwo-workshops na ako.”
If ever, she wants to portray action-centric characters.
“Yung mala Lara Croft,” she said. “Pero may nagsabi na try ko din comedy kasi funny daw ako in real life.”
