NorthPort took a break from its preparations for the upcoming PBA Governors’ Cup to lend a helping hand to one of the communities recently drenched and ravaged by the flooding brought by the monsoon rains and typhoon Carina.
The Batang Pier led by head coach Bonnie Tan held a feeding program along with Quezon City councilor Nanette Castelo – Daza at the JYC Covered Court, Tagupo street in Brgy. Tatalon.
Tatalon was one of the barangays in Quezon City that was affected by the flooding with some areas even submerged to chest-deep floods.
A total of 500 persons or around 200 families benefited from the feeding program that was also attended by some of the Batang Piers players including new additions Jio Jalalon, Abut Tratter and Sidney Onwubere and rookie Evan Nelle.
Also present were Joshua Munzon, Allyn Bulanadi, William Navaro, Paul Zamar, Fran Yu, Damie Cuntapay, John Amores, Cade Flores and Paolo Taha as well as NorthPort coaching and utility staff.
The players also spent time taking pictures and giving autographs to the residents.
