PARIS – Who will capture the heart of gymnastics fans after Carlos Yulo?
Three Fil-American beauties are out to emerge from the long shadow of the pride of Leveriza in Manila when they also see action in the women’s all-around competition in the 2024 Paris Olympic on Sunday, July 28, here.
They are Emma Malabuyo, Aleah Finnegan and Levi Jung-Ruivivar.
Jung-Ruivivar is the youngest of the three at 18, but with her youthful exuberance, she is undoubtedly the country’s secret weapon.
A clear proof of her tremendous talent was winning the silver medal in the uneven bars during the World Cup Series in Doha, Qatar last April
Malabuyo is also on a mission like everyone else.
After going the extra mile in her desire to claim an Olympic berth, Malabuyo will try everything possible to get noticed in the world’s biggest stage. She earned an Olympic slot after finishing third in the all-around event of the Asian Gymnastics Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Finnegan, 21, has been a member of the PH team since the Hanoi SEA Games two years ago.
Already, the charming Finnegan conquered great odds to become the first Filipina gymnast to secure an Olympic berth since Everlyn Magluyan competed in the 1964 edition.
Finnegan is not only out to win the hearts of gymnastics fans but is also aiming for a podium finish.
