The financial windfall just kept pouring in for Olympic double gold medalist Carlos Yulo.
ArenaPlus is the latest to recognize the 24-year-old gymnast for the historical feat he achieved in the Paris Olympics as it is set to give Yulo a cash reward amounting to P5 million.
The ‘Astig Sports Bonus’ is also in honor of Yulo being the official brand ambassador of the leading sports entertainment gateway in the country.
The Filipino pride became the first ever to win for the country two gold medals in a single Olympics by ruling the men’s floor exercise and vault event one after the other at Bercy Arena during the weekend.
A grand hero’s welcome is expected to be given to Yulo once he arrives in the country.
“Kasama mo kami sa laban ngayon. Parte ka na ng kasaysayan. At para sa patuloy nating paglalakbay sa ating magandang pinagsamahan, sa iyo rin ang Astig Sports Bonus of P5 million,” said ArenaPlus in a statement.
“Para sa iyong pagpupursige sa hinaharap at sa larangan na iyong pinasikat, ito’y magsisilbing tulong para mas lalong mai-angat ang iba’t ibang karera sa sports.”
The cash reward adds up to the other incentives Yulo is going to receive both from the government and private sector for his exemplary showing in his second Olympic stint.
The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) under RA 10699 (National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives Act) will hand out a total of P20 million or P10 million each for the gold medals Yulo won.
The House of Representatives also doubled its earlier pledge to the 4-foot-11 gymnast by giving out P6 million, while a house and lot in Tagaytay and a condominium unit worth P35 million will be provided by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) and a property development firm.
