UPeepz bested 42 world-class dance crews to claim the gold medal in the Megacrew Division of the World Hip-Hop Dance Championship in Phoenix, Arizona last week.
Backed by World Balance, the squad led by coach Chips Beltran proudly hoisted the country’s flag and made their mark on the dance floor as they showcased an electrifying display of talent and passion to outshine the 3,000-strong field.
It’s an impressive feat especially with the Philippine crew besting silver medalist Ping Pong Alpha of Italy, bronze medalist Da Republik of Dominican Republic, as well as teams from powerhouse countries like the United States, Japan, and Canada.
This is the third time that UPeepz won the gold in the highly competitive Megacrew Division.
It previously topped the contest in 2016 and 2017, and has now tied The Royal Family of New Zealand for the most gold medals in the category, which is for squads made up of 10 to 40 crew members with no age limit.
But it’s not just them.
Counterparts The Peepz also took home silver in the adult division, which is for 5-9 crew members aged 18 and above.
VPeepz also made it to the finals in the JV Megacrew Division (10-40 members aged 17 and below), VPeepz in the semifinals of the Varsity Division (5-9 members aged 13 to 17), and Lil Peepz also in the semifinals of the Junior Division (5-9 members aged 7 to 12).
