Famed strength and conditioning coach Julius Naranjo will be one of main speakers in the Phase 2 of the Meraki Training & Sports Foundations of Strength and Conditioning series from September 14 and 15 in Bacolod City.
The Foundations Workshop aims to equip and empower Filipino coaches of Visayas in their personal and professional growth, and envision building a space of champion makers and purpose-driven Filipino coaches.
Naranjo, the husband of Tokyo Olympics weightlifting gold medalist Hidilyn, will be one of of the guest speakers along with Meraki Training & Sports founder Pawix Agir, and University of the Philippines men’s and football team strength and conditioning coach Genaro Sabile.
In Phase 2, which is supported by Komida Foods, Black Mamba & Megaworld Upper East, Naranjo will talk about weightlifting for sports performance. Sabile, on the other hand, will discuss about plyometrics, speed and agility, and conditioning.
Phase 1, which was held last June 8 in also in Bacolod City, was focused on long-term athlete development, foundations of strength training and ports physiotherapy, with Agir and Torres who discussed the topics.
The Meraki Training & Sports previously held workshops in Dumaguete, Cebu and Manila.
Coach Pawix Agir is the founder of Meraki Education. He is also the strength and conditioning coach of the Philippine Beach Volleyball team, as well as Premier Volleyball League clubs Akari and Nxled, as well as UAAP’s Adamson collegiate women’s and high school girls volleyball team.
