Businessman Carlo Aguilar has expressed optimism relating the scheduled opening of the first integrated resort in Las Piñas City next year as spearheaded by the Villar group of companies.
He believes the project, meant to cater to world-class concerts, shows and cultural exhibitions, will turn everybody’s attention towards Las Piñas as a tourism and entertainment hub inasmuch as bring employment to tens of thousands of its residents.
“The development of the integrated resort with facilities for hotels, gaming, convention, shopping, entertainment and wellness will totally transform the landscape of Las Piñas. This will make us a must-visit destination and will bring in more revenues to change the lives of the residents for the better,” Aguilar, a former city councilor, noted.
Details of the integrated resort project released to the media stated that the first phase will open sometime in 2025, in an 8.7 hectare property in the Global South township along C5 Road Extension – just right across Padre Diego Cera Avenue – the site of the Las Piñas Historical Corridor which includes the famous Bamboo Organ.
About 21,000 square meters will be allotted for retail shops and thematic shopping while 18,300 sq.m. will be dedicated to the casino with live performances and celebrity shows.
Another 5,800 square meters is being reserved as a separate venue for concerts, sports and cultural exhibits.
“The whole area will blend the old and the new. It’s very exciting because everyone will see the wonderful change in Las Piñas, from a sleepy town to a major attraction – a distinction it deserves as the gateway to the South,” he added.
An accomplished businessman-philanthropist, Aguilar is being groomed to run for the top post in the city.
