Lara Posadas-Wong captured a silver medal in the 27th Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl Ratchayothin, Bangkok, Thailand recently.
Posadas-Wong registered 1,353 pinfalls in the women’s singles event highlighted by 258 in the sixth and final frame to emerge as the lone medalist for Team PH.
She averaged 225.50 pinfalls per game in the 83-woman field that saw top bowlers from the region participated.
Singapore’s Daphne Tan topped the class by tallying 1,382 while South Korea’s Baek Seung Ja (1340) settled for the bronze.
Other Filipina bets Marie Alexis (1249), Dyan Arcel Coronacion (1218), Krizziah Macatula (1144), Danielle Denise Lazo (1137), and Jelena Grace Gella (1092) finished 13th, 19th, 39th, 42nd, and 51st, respectively.
Posadas-Wong actually had a slow start, chalking up 201 and 217 in the first and second before waxing hot in the third with a 269. She had a 236 in the fourth but slowed down in the next with a dismal 172.
The Nationals, being handled by Jojo Canare, are now taking part in the doubles with Dale Lazo and Grace Gella vying in the women’s side and Art Barrientos and Mark Custodio in the men’s division.
