Regal Entertainment, among the country’s more prolific film production companies, birthing over 700 titles since it was established in 1962, recently celebrated its continuing legacy via a grand shindig as highlighted by a moving tribute to Mother Lily Monteverde, the visionary behind the company’s success.
Note it was Mother who pushed for Regal to become the entertainment powerhouse that it is today.
For Mother, a self-confessed film fanatic who dreamed big, Regal is not just a business; it’s a platform meant to help enliven the local film industry inasmuch as it is a vehicle for many eager to achieve their silver screen dreams – very much like her.
These include writers, directors, actors, actresses, many of whom are now industry pillars.
With Mother’s recent passing, Roselle Monteverde is taking over as Regal’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
She will be working side by side with her son Keith Monteverde who assumes the Executive Vice President (EVP) position.
Under their leadership, Regal Entertainment is to embark on a new era of filmmaking, unveiling the last three projects Mother Lily green-lighted: “Guilty Pleasure,” “My Future You,” and “Untold.”
Starring Lovi Poe, JM De Guzman, Jameson Blake, “Guilty Pleasure” explores the complicated web that binds three ambitious lawyers.
The hot tandem of Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin banners “My Future You,” a romantic comedy focusing on two people from different timelines meeting through a dating app.
“Untold,” starring Jodi Sta Maria, is a chilling exploration of the horrors lurking behind even the most glamorous professions.
Meanwhile, to underscore Mother’s commitment to the industry, Roselle and Keith, together with Dondon Monteverde, donated 1 million to the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (MOWELFUND) during the same event.
